WHAT TO DO
Emergency
In
case of an emergency at the marina, first dial 9-1-1 and then notify Lake
Whitney Marina. We are located in HILL County and only a few
miles outside the Whitney city limit.
There is an air
ambulance base in Whitney,
https://www.careflite.org/helicopterarea.aspx.
Whitney is also included the CareFlite ground ambulance
and 911 EMS service area,
https://www.careflite.org/groundareas.aspx.
Electric shock drowning
If you see electric shock drowning taking place
at the marina, dial 9-1-1 and
follow the steps listed at
https://www.esfi.org/resource/electric-shock-drowning-water-and-electricity-don-t-mix-643.
Never swim, or allow your pet to swim, in a marina.
Fire
Fire extinguishers are
located on all boat docks, in dry storage, on the
store dock near the gasoline pumps, inside cabins, and inside rental RVs. In case of fire, immediately dial
9-1-1 and then notify Lake Whitney Marina.
Evacuate the area immediately.
Severe storms
In case of severe storms
while you're at Lake Whitney Marina @ Juniper Cove, seek shelter in
the restroom and shower buildings in the campground loops.
There is an additional restroom building in the store
parking lot. Seek shelter on land and indoors. Stay away from trees,
metal objects, and tall structures when there's
lightning in the area. Get off of the water. Get off of boat
docks.
Before storms arrive at the marina, secure loose items
outside, use only plastic stakes to secure a tent,
verify your vessel is tied up securely in its slip and
fenders are in place to prevent contact with the dock, and
check that wheel chocks are in place for camping units and boat
trailers.
